Based in one of New Zealand’s most scenic and diverse regions, this role offers an exciting mix of work across marine, forestry, transport, and general industry — from planned installations through to urgent breakdowns. What You’ll Be Doing

This is a full-time, permanent role with a guaranteed 40 hours per week, and the opportunity to earn $32-$40/hour (depending on experience) plus commission for developing new business and retaining loyal customers.

As a Sales and Service Technician, you’ll:

• Deliver on-site hydraulic hose repairs, maintenance, and installations across Nelson and surrounding areas
• Work across a wide range of industries, including marine, forestry, and heavy equipment
• Respond to breakdowns and urgent service callouts — getting customers back up and running quickly
• Carry out installations and planned maintenance work
• Diagnose and fix hydraulic issues efficiently and safely
• Build strong relationships with customers and become their go-to expert
• Identify and grow new business opportunities while servicing existing clients
• Take part in our on-call service roster (extra pay applies)

What You’ll Need to Succeed

We’re after someone who’s just as comfortable with people as they are with machinery. You might be a tradie, mechanic, fitter, or someone from a similar hands-on background looking for a more dynamic, mobile role.

You’ll bring:

• A full, clean driver’s license
• Strong mechanical aptitude (automotive, heavy diesel, or similar)
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
• A strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail
• Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
• Willingness to be part of an on-call roster

Bonus if you have:

• Experience with hydraulic hoses and fittings
• Exposure to marine or forestry equipment
• Trade qualifications in mechanical or automotive fields
